Shaking the family tree. Meet the clan.

Very few family photos exist from the late 1800's and early 1900's in my part of Appalachia. However, due to journalistic interest in the Hatfield-McCoy feud, a few pics remain.

This is "Bad Frank" Phillips in photo below. Pike County lawman and killer of Hatfields. "Bad Frank" was my great-grandfather's nephew. Frank's dad and my great-grandfather were brothers.
