Subaru reliability

Wife is strongly considering buying a used 2024 with 500 miles Subaru Crosstrek. 2 liter engine. She has no hard driving but some gravel roads where we live. 25 mile trip to her work.

Thoughts?
Her father's, who recently died, car and the estate is selling it to the highest family bidder.

Done the online reviews and prices but she wants other opinions.

Dang fires

Well, I worked and worked getting everything loaded up and drove down to my place in Colorado. About 8 miles from the border there’s a plume of smoke ahead of me. Right at the border, the smoke is on my right, about due west. I saw a line of fire trucks turning on to the first forest service road in Colorado. Get to my cabin, here comes a Chinook with a big water tank, headed toward the lakes. Flies right over me, I could see a crew member looking at me. Don’t see him for about 10 minutes…

Small Rifle primers in pistols.

I did a search and did not find this info.

I know they are harder than pistol primers and should not be used for self defense, but, has anyone done this ?

Have they fired reliably in your pistol? Hotter?

I know pistol primers in rifle is a no-go due to higher pressures and thinner metal in the primer cup and possible rupture.

The Days of Cheap Army Surplus are Over

I grew up in the 1990s til the late 2000s. One of the big things that I grew up with was dirty cheap army surplus that you could buy for next nothing. It was a perfect storm though, the Soviet Union had collapsed and a lot of cheap Soviet surplus was on the market, the United States had gone through a downsize after the fall of the Soviets, and the American army was moving from ALICE to MOLLE.

It was a perfect storm.

After looking through Ebay, gun catalogs, Amazon, etc.

I think the day…

New Guy

Hello Everyone,

I am new here and I'm looking forward to joining discussions and learning from the group. I have lived in Michigan my whole life and I'm very familiar and comfortable in the woods. Life long whitetail deer hunter, small game hunter and fisherman. I also burn wood as a primary heat source for my home. Thanks for having me and I look forward to contributing!
