Practical Survival Advice

Still working on the BOL and am acquiring the land parcel next to mine in a week or so. Being in Florida I have a HUGE issue with mosquitos at dusk, overnight and into the morning hours. As soon as dusk hits there are 50 of those little guys hanging on you.

I have 2 acres in a medium wooded area…….I am waiting to plant in a expand the anole and dragonfly populations as well are eventually putting bat houses in.

For what you have seen, or your experience, are the elderly individuals working at Walmart/Home Depot or similar doing it because:

– they absolutely need the money to live.

– socialization and getting out of the house.

– combo of both.

– other (why?)

I picked up a cheap CB radio (a Cobra mini) just to fool around with. I haven't gotten an antenna yet though. I may get a K40 I saw on Amazon. Problem is how do I tune the antenna? I don't want to blow money on an SWR meter that I will use once and costs more than the radio. Anybody have any suggestions?

These are ancient tools finding new uses in current battlefields. They are easy to make ahead of time and store. Easy to attach on rusty chains in rows with multiple rows attached side by side and stapled to boards on both ends to cover roads at choke points or ahead of road blocks. We can do tthat easily ourselves with old dog chains and scrap lumber.

Caltrops as SHTF area/road denial

Looking to get my daughter a CC pistol in 9mm. I have a hammer fired Sig 238 pocket gun and a striker fired Glock G45 that I use for myself. I like both and have no issues operating them. What do you think is best for an occasional shooter?
