Do cryptocurrencies make sense as part of prepping?

Cryptocurrencies have been around for several years now, when they started I thought little of them, couldn´t have been more wrong, now they seem to be here to stay and up to get a serious boost by the next admin.

They could be a hedge against serious currency devaluation / inflation and, of course, a practical way of taking your cash with you without depending too much on banks (we all saw what happened 2008) and beyond the reach of (most) governments.
