Subaru reliability

Wife is strongly considering buying a used 2024 with 500 miles Subaru Crosstrek. 2 liter engine. She has no hard driving but some gravel roads where we live. 25 mile trip to her work.

Thoughts?
Her father's, who recently died, car and the estate is selling it to the highest family bidder.

Done the online reviews and prices but she wants other opinions.

TSA pistol case

I searched this forum, but none of the threads answered by question. Forgive me if this is a duplicate thread

I flew Allegiant Air to Phoenix with my EDC in a hard plastic, locked case. No issues. The return trip guy said that was not TSA compliant, and only let me on because I also lock my suitcase. Hmmm.

I have to fly back down in a few weeks, and want a TSA compliant pistol case, just in case. All the ones I see are huge. I carry a Ruger EC9, so it is small. I don't want to lose…

After Action Report – Power failure

Well our elect co-op failed us again…

About 9:30 am just after our morning walk we lost power until about an hour ago, about 6 hrs. First the internet failed, then a few min later, the power. I heard my neighbors Generac, 6 houses away on the next street fire up. Her husband is on a breathing machine and has to have power.

We rolled our genset out, fired on the second pull. Plugged in the refers/freezer. I got our little Honda back up genny out and ran it. It took about ten pulls, I…

Is a shovel necessary for camping?

Referring to camping on snow.

Some use their shovel to make space for tent pitch, dig inside the tent for more space, build a windbreaker wall around or cover the tent flaps.

Snowshoes covers the 1st one, larger and stronger tent covers the 2nd and 3rd, and shovel isn't really needed for tent flaps.

Any other reasons for carrying a shovel for camping?
