Practical Survival Advice

I got a little bit of a wake up call a few days ago. Let me set the table. Visualize a worst case scenario. We're talking about something that completely overwhelms the systems ability to handle the situation. In other words at least a full month of law and order not preserved properly by the government, the supply chain not working, electricity not happening, hospitals overwhelmed, etc. I predict total bloodbath.

I will start this thread by saying I am not encouraging or condoning the purchase of these items. I started buying some odds and ends on AliExpress a month or so ago. Shooting gloves, tweezers, zip ties, ect. The prices are insanely cheap. For my sons birthday, he wanted a combat knife "like dads", which is the Becker BK-18. Chinese Clone Knives – This is insane!

A while back I became interested in car top tents, for those who don't know what they are they are tents that attach to the cargo/luggage rails on top of a car or truck and fold down for travel.

It was at that point I went down the car top tent rabbit hole. I was surprised at the number of manufacturers and the variety of tents and styles available to the consumer.

They seem to range in price from kind of expensive to overly expensive, at least for a tent.

I watched 'No Blade of Grass' early this morning. It's from 1970 and set in England amid a virus that has destroyed all Earth's food crops.

Today I did some research on heirloom seeds and passed the info on, to some friends. Also will be hitting the pool to get the exercise in. Will be reading my survival manual during my down time tonight.

Prepping can be quite overwhelming to beginners, but doable in bite sized pieces.

It would be neat to hear what all of you are doing.
