popcorn….

I purchased, 3… five lb bags of popcorn. A tiny amount will make a quart bag, stuffed full.

tonight I wanted a snack…. so I popped…. some popcorn…. It was a tiny amount, maybe a 1/16 of a cup of kernels and it yielded a ton of popcorn. Overflowed a 6 quart pot.

It was a lovely evening snack…..

Wonder if others have recognized the power of popcorn?

Reality check

Most of the preppers I've personally known are fat people. I've heard people say to me that, if something happens, they'll just adapt to the situation and tough it out. Realistically, you may be at a certain level where you can adapt quickly, but improper preparation and knowledge can quickly lead to short- or long-term injuries.

Alternative fuels in a kerosene “Hurricane” lantern

Greetings all,

I’m just curious if anyone has tried running alternative (ie, other than kerosene) fuels in a hurricane style lamp. Obviously, I’d expect diesel to work, but what about biodiesel? Or plain motor oil? Or just plain canola?

I don’t want to do the experiment myself if I don’t have to, but I will if it comes down to it.
